Michael D. McClurg, Sr. served as the elected judge of the Darke County Probate/Juvenile Court for eight years until his retirement on January 31, 2011. Judge McClurg has now returned to the Court serving part-time as Magistrate.

Judge Michael D. McClurg, Sr. began his service as judge of Darke County Probate and Juvenile Courts on February of 2003. Judge McClurg worked hard at collaboration with all the agencies who work with Probate/Juvenile Court; including Darke County Children Services, Darke County Recovery, Darke County Mental Health, Council on Rural Services (Gateway), the schools and all police agencies.

The creation of liaison positions with Darke County Recovery, Darke County Mental Health and the schools has solidified that cooperation. He was engaged in the private practice of law from 1976 to 2002. He also served as the Attorney for the Village of Versailles from 1977 to 2002. Judge McClurg received a B.S. in Business Administration from Wright State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Ohio Northern University. He is the past president of the Darke County Bar Association. Judge McClurg is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Association of Juvenile Court Judges and has served on other judicial association committees.

Judge McClurg is married and lives in Versailles, Ohio. He and his wife, Sandy, have three children and five grandchildren.
